all i did was say merry christmas everyone
and had a few responses then checked my mail the next day and yahoo answers sent me a violation notice because of it.
not only did they send me a violation notice but they also deleted my statement !!!
i guess my question is this
" was i wrong to say merry christmas to you all because that is what ive been taught through my up bringing? "
i wasnt trying to put down any other religous beliefs.....
and would not have been offended to get a reply saying happy kawanza or hanakah, or anything thing else for that matter....
how politically correct to we have to be?
even on yahoo answers?

I don't get it. I mean Christmas has become a part of our society for the last one hundred years or so. Did anyone see The History of Christmas on the History Channel the other night. It has turned more into a secular holiday then religious in most cases and is part of our culture. People just need to leave it alone. There is always someone out there trying to pee on someones parade. There is some group out there trying to make it illegal to say Merry Christmas. Anyone heard of freedom of speech?

Merry Christmas.

It was not a question but a statement, which is a violation of TOS whether or not such material is even "offensive" in nature.

Perhaps it may not have been someone who deemed it 'offensive' but rather some lurking trolls who simply like to report random questions at will.

Being politically correct is important. It is important not to offend people.

You probably got a violation and had your question deleted because you didn't ask a question, but rather did something that would be considered a "rant."

Someone was probably annoyed by it (because so many people rant daily) and reported you, even though you probably meant no harm.
