Somebody posted a question about mine the other day, they seemed to be put out that it´s in a foreign language and assumed that therefore it is something offensive or rude.

It isn´t!

What´s the story behind the name you use?

Mine is an acronym of my real name,
Euskadi (the basque country , where I live)
and a short phrase in Basque which I am frequently changing. This one "Ez dut beldurra" means " I am not afraid."

Mine is based on a character from Ursula K. Le Guin's novel "The Dispossessed". Some people assume it's Eastern European or Russian.

In the book Shevek lives in a society where names are allotted randomly by computer and no one has the same name.

It's NOT my name, LOL ! Imagine being baptised Red Chrome.
Airplanes.... fuselages.... Chromed and then with Red lettering look great.
I, in London, and another American (a real pilot) are part of a design group and together we a make air planes for Microsoft Flight Simulator FS2004 and now for FSX (as a hobby).
We pioneered a way to make fuselages CHROME or true metal looking. No one on the planet knows how to do that. Microsoft managed to crack the secret but no one else can. Showing off? You damned right I'm showing off. Another first for the UK ! (and for the USA too LOL) We have been approached by other commercial software houses but no secret revealed.
CHROMED fuselages with RED lettering look great in my view. I was nearly called ORANGE CHROMED for the same reason.
That is the story behind my Red Chrome. My real name ? F.... (as if LOL)... know the advert ? LOL !

This nic is a combination of things.
It's a variation of one of my Star Trek profiles that I have been using since 1998. Many people at different sites also know me by this nic, so I keep it the same.

Rico comes from me being half Puertorican and my first name is Rick. The Goldstar is from me being a Deputy Sheriff and also Star because my Star Trek alter ego is Ambassador_Star.

I was playing a star wars video game and the first time I went on line they asked me to choose a name. The numbers on the end of it, was offered as names that had not already been taken. I just chose the one that was easiest to remember
"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"

My ID isn't my real name. It' based on a comedian that was on the Ed Sullivan show, back in the day. A comic before my time. He's known for saying "I was the 1st man on the moon."
I guess, that's the story of it.
