I do believe the good ones start after New Year's.. or on New Years Day. If you can wait a bit, in March everything is dirt cheap.. if you have the patience to do some digging and rummaging, it's well worth it.

The day after Christmas would be the obvious answer but many companies are putting their after holiday sales on now to maximize the sales.

Depending on the item, some sales have already started. Non gift items such as Christmas decorations, cards, bows and such are usually at their lowest price right now. This is because merchants would rather sell it before they have to store it in the warehouses....reason being is that these items will sell every year, and don't have dates on them.
As for electronics, and such....the best days for sales are right after Christmas...since these are gift items, the merchants will hold out to the very end to sell what they can before they have to mark it down/store the extra in the warehouse.
***$$$ saving suggestion*** If you're going out of town a few days after Christmas and will be taking gifts with you, buy them right after the holidays when the prices have dropped. No one else knows you've done it and you can save big $$$ or upgrade the gift you are going to give...either way, it's smart shopping. It's not the cost of the gift of course, but the idea of stretching your hard earned money into gifts that you'll enjoy giving and others will appreciate getting....Merry Christmas...peace....Cuervo

p/s...For those of you who are giving/getting gift cards...USE THEM!!! it was reported that 2.5 million $$$ were paid for and not used....the stores love it when you pay for something that you won't use....also, treat them like cash...once you've lost them, you can't get a refund/new card to replace it....now go shopping y'all!!!!
