Get her a gift card. If that's not personal enough, think about what she enjoys, then get something like that. For example, I LOVE to cook and read, so a book or something to do with the kitchen would be great for me. However, I DO have to say, that we Moms, love anything that comes from you guys!

OK-you are right mom's do want something. She wants to know you pay attention to her as a human and not just a mom. What does she like to do? Does she read or have a favorite TV show ( a season on DVD or itmes related to the show are great). Does she have a charity she helps with, if she does you could give her 2 hours of your time to help with things there like sending out letters or the like or you could get her something from the charity (like a shirt or hat that raises money for them or a donation in her honor).
Does she go to lunch during work? A gift card for her favorite spot and a nice travel mug or lunch box with those containers that are made for lunch breaks. Um, does she garden-a gift card to her favorite garden store one that will cover the cost of say her favorite flower so you can give her a growing season of her fave flower not just a one shot vase of them. Hmmm, has she always wnted to...why not get a gift cert for a class she wants to take.
Being a "mom" doesnt mean we all now want the following list of mom gifts. We are still people-just not people you know as well as you should. If you get her something that shows you paid attention to what she likes she will be tickled pink. If you need help with it-think of how the house is decorated. What little things soes she have sitting around that you know she picked out. Maybe you will get to know your mom a little better too. Good luck.

The best present I ever got from my kids was a collage of family pictures which included all of them at various times in our lives. It is very proudly displayed in my living room, and it is a tremendous testimony to our family.
The other thing that they have done that I liked very well was a poem that they wrote for my ex-husband about all the memories that they had of their childhood, good and bad.
This poem was subsequently read at his funeral, and everybody there was in tears.
That being said, whatever you get for her will be wonderful, because it isn't the gift, it's the fact that you love her, and appreciate all that she is, and all that she has been all of your life.
Merry Christmas.

I agree with jdcorse25. A gift card is fine, or anything that relates to a hobby she loves. Clothes are hard since tastes differ.

I'm 23 and I just asked my mom what I could get her.
This included bath and body sprays, soaps and lotions, the book "Eat, Pray, Love" and a cell phone case.

I'm a mom, and I would love something that showed me that
my child listened close enough to me to know my personallity
and cared enough to give me something in that realm.
