Basically does it mean that I could copy two 4.5 Gb dvd moves onto the same disc? Also do you have to flip the disc over to the other side? Or is it all done on the same side?

A dual layer disk has a capacity of 8.5GB so it is slightly less than two single layer disks. The layers of the disk are stacked one on top of the other with the first layer being read through the second layer so it does not need to be turned over.
The disk appears to players as one large disk so although you could copy two movies to the disk if they were small enough you could only play one of them unless you edited the menus on the disk.

First of all to write Double layer DVDs u need two of the following thing available with you

1. Double layer blank DVD (8.5 GB of capacity)
and most important
2. Your DVD writer should support burning Double Layer DVDs

Double Layer DVDs as the name suggests writes the data in layers.
no need to flip the Disc over.
But when you write Double Layer DVDs make sure the reading source supports the same format.
like your DVD player, the Disc Drive, the laptop Drives etc.

In theory, you could put two DVDs on it, though you would have to have a menu to sort between them, and you would likely lose the DVD menus.

Typically, it is all done on one side, though you can buy DVDs that have double dual-layers on both sides (a total of 17gb!), though you would have to flip it.

i can use various reasons to apply a DL DVD disc a million) i % to repeat a DVD without high quality loss (i take advantage of DVD Decrypter for that) 2) i % to burn a sequence of cartoons to a million disc, even though it`s extra desirable than 4.5 GB. 3) if i desire to burn my backup of records and so forth. to a million disk (ease of looking issues) and that i've got extra desirable than 4.5 GB..
