This is one of those questions where the answer (and the truth of the matter) really depends on the experiences of the person giving the answer.
Yes, it is true that following your passion can bring you success for many reasons. However, there are no guarantees.
No, it is not true that forgetting the consequences will bring you success for many reasons. Consequences vary, and some will make you regret your decision even despite your success (if it ever happens).
I would follow your passion, and don't forget the consequences. You may have to compromise, that's not necessarily a bad thing and may, in fact, lead to a better decision. Or find more passions.

Success is a heavy word...you should follow your passions but I would never forget the consequences. Sometimes it's better to be in the middle than on top, no pun intended.

I doubt it. To put out the illusion that you are a very passionate person passionately indulging yourself and making money while at it is a good marketing ploy, but your media people should be continually monitoring whether people are buying it or not.
I personally will not buy this type of snakeskin oil sales talk but maybe a lot of others will.

You may gain a lot of satisfaction and knowledge by following your passion, but money is another thing. Was Van Gogh successful? He died broke following his passion. I say, yes, he was very successful. But that's a hard road to choose when you have bills to pay.

Yes, because if you are passionate about something you will find a way to make it succeed, that is part of what it is to have passion. Everything we do has consequences, to a certain extent, so they should never hinder one's passion.
