its really good. there are some parts where the infected people pop up and get your heart racing and will smith falls and gets a knife stuck in his leg, but its not that bad. It was actually a really good movie.

It actually is not very gruesome it is more of a jumpy movie theres things that pop out here and there or really loud noises especially if the theater you go to has the volume at full blast.. For me it was a very sad movie and the ending sucked... The way it ended I really thought it should have been better..Anyways in gruesome I give it a 3 out of 10

'I Am Legend' (1954) written by Richard Matheson. One of my favorite books.
I waited over a year for the Will Smith movie (2007) version and found it disappointing. Although Will Smith gives it his best (as always).
The Vincent Price version 'The Last Man On Earth' (1964) is in public domain and is FREE to download on many sites and will no doubt be shown on television soon to grab viewers.
Perhaps the best version is the Charlton Heston version 'The Omega Man' (1971).
If you are expecting something along the lines of Will Smith's brilliant Sci-Fi 'I, Robot' (2004) I should think you will be disappointed.
Not really gruesome but sad, very much in the vein of Robinson Crusoe. (If you read the Daniel Defoe book you will see the similarities).

Its not very gruesome nor gory. I think its fine for anyone over the age of like 13 prob. Its just a few vampires its not to vicious or anything. There are like 2 parts that are kind of bad but nothing to bad. The movie overall was well under my expectations, I give it a 6.5/10

not really too gruesome actually I thought, but I wouldnt take my kids to it,pretty scary, and a very sad moment hard to explain to kids about a pet dog.
Teens it is cool for.
maybe 14 and up.
Maybe a 12 to 13 if they are tough boys.
It was a very good movie, I liked it alot,. I never saw the previous versions or even know what it was about.

The book is so much better.
But if you want to see the movie, I would say it's about a 4/5 out of 10 on the gore/scare scale.

If she is 10 or younger, I wouldn't.
It is very scary and while it has a nice message of human capacity in the face of death, it is not suitable for children under 11 or 12.
Very well written though, you will love it.

it's more intense than gruesome.
the creatures are pretty gross but they're still human-like so it's not that bad. there's not much blood either.
definitely intense more than anything
