If I'm writting an essay and I need to name a mexican association, should I put the name in spanish or translate it to English?

You should put it in Spanish in quotations and italicized. If it is a long paper than you can even use a footnote to define its English meaning. Good Luck

Do both.
Leave the technical name of the company (Spanish) and put the translation in parenthesis.
Its like any proper name. My name doesn't change to Spanish because we're speaking it, it has a translation, but that is not my name. The same thing for any proper name.

Its name is its name--and if the words are in Spanish, that's its name, you can't change its name. However, should you think some of your readers won't understand the name, you can (translate it into English) put the English words in parentheses after the first time you use it--but not every time, it makes it seem like you don't think the reader can remember.

Honestly, I'd do both. To make your essay more comprehensive, I'd list the Spanish name, and then put a translation after it, maybe in parentheses. That way your reader gets a broader view of what you're talking about.

Def. leave it in spanish. Names are not meant to be translated. If your name can be translated to Italian, would you want it spoken in italian if you ever go to Italy? Your name will be the same no matter what language it is spoken in, just as the name of a company will also remain the same.

i think you should leave it in spanish.
you could put in parenthesis what it means in english if you want.
but most proper names like of a person, group or whatever, aren't translated.
also cause you have to be absolutely sure to translated correctly if you dont wanna have the spanish name on there.

Leave it in Spanish. More poetic and encourages people to be more cosmopolitan.
