Nothing embarassing.. just frustrating and disappointing.

I cannot believe how selfish grown adults can be! My husband's Christmas party was held at a very nice country club this year - overlooking the golf course and set by candlelight in the evening. It was beautiful. People complained that it was too dim! AMBIANCE!! What's wrong with a little ambiance??? Not to mention... everyone received a gift card as their gift, then... they had a drawing for other gifts. Not everyone got another gift, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Oh, but to some it was. They griped about not getting two gifts! I thought it was extremely selfish. We didn't go to this event to get a gift. We went so we could have a good time and some amazing food prepared by an executive chef.

It was my idea to just donate all of the money that they had raised to the Salvation Army or the Veteran's Hospital. But no... they had to get gifts because if they don't have gifts every year, there's a large group of people that complain!

Get a sitter and both of you can go. If he still puts his four year old before you then by all means go with your sister and leave him at home with his son. An adults only party means just that. Don't be a fool and take the child and then be told to turn around and go back home. I doubt that this adult party is right on Christmas so you and your husband should have plenty of time to enjoy Christmas with the child.

I was leary of where we went this year. It's called Dave & Busters and is sort of like an adult Chucky Cheese. However, the food was great. The people who worked there were very nice. They put us into teams for a corporate challenge and supervised us on four different games, which was actually fun. They gave us cards with about 60 points on them and then didn't make us use any of them so we got to keep them for next time. I was quite surprised.

Last year we went to the Niagara Falls Casino. The buffett was overpriced and not that great, and I did not find the actual gambling anything to get all excited about. After I lost my $20 they gave us, I left.

I was at my hubby's Christmas party, and couldn't hear the emcee say what game they were playing. Next thing I know this box was plopped in my lap and I didn't know what to do with it. Everyone was staring, I opened it, and there were instructions on what to do with it next. I stood up and looked around, and I couldn't find anyone who matched the instructions! Finally I just passed it off to someone at our table and let her deal with it. I felt like an idiot in front of people I'd just met.

I didn't win anything in the company raffle AGAIN this year. So I'm 0 for 5 now. Other than that, no big disasters.

I'll let you know on Saturday. My office party is Friday (tomorrow) night, and I have a big surprise for my boss' boss. If you don't hear from me, I'll be in the unemployment line.
