Not really...
More like:
If UGA wins "Why wasn't this team in the bcs championship game?"
If UGA loses "How could they have lost to Hawaii, and why wasn't Hawaii ranked higher than others?"
Good luck!!

Well, let me first just say this, Georgia was not a national title game worthy team. Yeah they were good, but they lost at home to South Carolina and at Tennessee while beating Vanderbilt by only 3 points and Alabama by 3 points.
They gave up 34 points to Troy University!!!
I do totally agree with your theory. That is probably exactly what people will be saying.
You have to realize though that Hawaii has a great offense and Gerogia's defense has been a question mark at times this season.
I would give credit to Georgia if they won this game with all of the hype for Hawaii. I think college football experts will also take this into consideration and won't downplay a Georgia win as much if they do in fact win.
I think it will be a close game. I mean we all saw what happened with Boise State and Oklahoma last season. Everybody was saying the same thing.
Hawaii has nothing to lose so I wouldn't be surprised if they opened the playbook a la Boise State.

You are 100% right. But at the same time, I don't think people (well, knowledgable people anyway) will say they "don't play anybody." Georgia had a tough schedule this year and they came out ahead statistically. Fans of UGA should be very happy with their football team.
That being said, Hawaii is still a decent team. They won all their games and that is hard regardless of what conference you are in. Most college coaches will tell you that.
However, as long as Georgia comes with their game face on and doesn't underestimate them like they did WVU that Sugar Bowl 2 years ago, they should be fine.
GL to them in the bowl game. It should be a good game, but I see them winning it.

Yes and no. Yes for the reasons you set out. No because if they soundly beat Hawaii, who is pretty darn good by the way, they will prove they're the real deal. So in that respect it's not necessarily a lose-lose because they have the chance to really show people how good they are and why they deserve to be ranked as high as they are, and they should be ranked high preseason next year. As we all know, being ranked high preseason goes a long way in the BCS. If, on the other hand, they lose people will say Hawaii was the real deal after all. So in that respect, the game means a lot to both teams.

that's a pretty good point. I don't think they can win. But, since so many people are saying that Hawaii should be in the NC game, if they do beat them, that will be a win situation. If Hawaii wins, I think it will prove that Hawaii is good, not that Georgia is bad, I don't think anybody can disagree with that.

Not really...if you ask me Hawaii is a top power after all they are the only team not to lose a game this season. Say what you want about the schedule...but they did play some good teams ( Utah State, Neveda, Boise State (ranked 17), and Washington. And last time I checked Boise State was playing in a bowl game them self. So yeah if you want to say Hawaii played no one go ahead, but they really did.
One reason why it didnt seem like they did was cause of Colt Brennan, a pure passing QB who knew the weakness of the coners on the other side of the field.

So I am not the only one who thought this very thing. For UGA to get any kind of respect out of this game, they have to beat Hawaii by at least 60 points.

100% agree with you! Georgia is in the same situation Oklahoma was in last year, you win everyone goes "so what you beat Hawaii" but if you lose everyone will say how overrated you were and you don't deserve to even play football next season. I don't think Georgia will struggle one bit with Hawaii though and no matter what happens I do not think it will hurt next seasons rankings.

If they man handle Hawaii, I'm sure they'll a top 5 rank next season. Believe me, a win in a bowl game will boost your preseason rank a lot.
But if they lose, ohhh there in some trouble

georgia is in better shape than the 04 auburn tigers.the sugar bowl for auburn was a huge dissapointment because they deserved a shot plowing through the sec winning by an avg of 21.4 points to conf. teams.georgia is one of the hottest teams and after they man handle hawaii in a bcs game, with the talent they have returning they should start next season in the no.1 spot, and should win it all next season.i think they are in a win-win
