From experience, silk is often too delicate to be mounted like canvas and left unprotected in the frame. I would mount it like cross-stitch or embroidery. Use a thick piece of acid-free Fome-Cor Board and carefully steam iron it between soft cotton and stretch it it flat, working from the centre of each side with stainless pins pushed into the edge of the board. Use a non-glare glass, place in the frame and use an acid-free backing paper to seal the back of the frame.

If the silk is not valuable, it can also be dry mounted on an acid-free board. The drawback there is that the mounting is permanent.

We have a silk limited edition print. Our framer used some clear plastic corner thingys, that hold the silk in the corners. Then those are attached to the white matte board (with glue).

An art or picture-framing store must have them. You can ask the salesperson at those stores and I'm sure they will know exactly what you want.

I would sew it onto an inner lighter frame that has soft padded covering ,stretch onto this first and then place into the main frame. The main frame rebate would have to be the same size as the inner frame and your allowance at the painting edge would have to accomodate this, ther are loads of books on silk painting as are there no doubt web sites.

No idea on sites, but i would staple it to a frame, much as you do canvas, just stretch it and tack it over the edges.I have painted on stretched silk canvas and it is a good receptor for oils or acrylics.
