We don't want that station to have anything to do with ours.

I think it's important to see things from all perspectives, so I would agree that we should have their news broadcasts available to us. I like to switch around between all of the various news stations that we have just so I can hear and analyze the different ways that the people at FOX and CNN look at a certain event. Al Jazeera would just be another perspective to add to the pile, even if some of it is not true.

i totally agree with redsandrider, al jazeera is a very factual and interesting news channel, and i'm glad they now have the English Channel..Sir David Frost works for this channel now, also. It's also a leader in its portrayal of current events worldwide, NOT editing some of the scenes of carnage that so often are not shown by western tv channels.

No. I understand that CNN MSNC and Fox news are all very slighted organizations, but Al Jazeera is extreme muslim propaganda and will hurt troop moral and setiment towards the war. It would be like Jane Fonda taking pictures with the NVA. If you want to hear about how evil you are as an american lets see AL Jazeera.

Actually, Al Jazeera is pretty fair. I've watched it, and not only don't they swallow U.S. government propaganda, but they don't swallow Saudi, Al Queda, or Euro propaganda, either.
Only someone who has never watched it, is deluded, or is deliberately lying would say that they're "pro Al Queda."
Of course, they have paid a cost for trying to be good journalists - Jihadists have kidnapped or killed their employees, and the U.S. has deliberately bombed their offices.
Journalistic honor has a high price these days.

We already do on Dish Network and Direct TV, Mosiac on Link TV is from the Middle East and there are other news programs from around the world too. We should all care what they have to say, we are not always privy to the truth from our media sources.

Wouldn't having Al Jazeera and CNN on cable be a little redundant?

I think so. The more the merrier. I'd like to see more foreign news in general.
To the people who think it's "propaganda", two questions. 1. Have you ever actually watched it? 2. What are you afraid of?

Get a satellite and you can watch it.
I think a lot of things, but I also dont think we should force any free and independent company to carry anything.
