Is this just a very low opinion of US abilities and influence?

Honestly my reference to "dirt farmers" was very purposeful. Had I not referenced them in a demeaning way my chances of a legitimate and well thought out answer was severely diminished.
Had I not included that I would have received answers telling me I'm a stupid conspiracy theorist.

So it was just a matter of wording it in a way so as to get a few decent answers.

This isnt about there being conspiracy's or no. This is just a hypothetical question about govt. corruption.
I don't care about the conspiracy's.
If there are no truth to them they will fade into history.
if they are true there will be a good movie in 20 years about it.
Other than that I don't care.
I can't vote anyways so it doesn't matter to me.

The current regime in office is hardly capable of taking care of official business and managing an occupation, much less orchestrating a sinister, destructive plot of grand proportions.

Certainly, it always possible for the government to carry out a plot simliar to what those 20 "dirt farmers" have achieved if it so desired. However, I still would prefer to extend a benefit of a doubt to our government, even with its less-than-honorable nature, in the hopes that they have at least SOME ounce of dignity as opposed to murderous fanatics. Plus, due to my skeptical nature, I am simply not going to be swayed by baseless conspiracy theories unless proven otherwise beyond a reasonable doubt.

Because those 20 "dirt farmers" are wicked, murdering, extremists. It's that fact that makes them capable.

The US government has the capability sure, but they aren't extremists who believe that if you don't think like them then you have to die. This make the government incapable of that type of murder.

Many people believe that our President and members of congress are unable to do anything beneficial for this country because many of the requests we've had towards the government have fallen on deaf ears & have lead to failed promises.

Allow me to clarify my earlier position...

When I said the U.S. lacked the capability to carry out mass murder on it's own people...I meant the following:

1) The capability to suspend morality long enough to commit mass murder on you own nation.

2) The capability to eliminate all evidence of said mass murder, which would likely mean further murder...

3) The capability to locate and train suicidal fanatics to commit said murders...

So my comments were related to the general character of the government, not its intelligence.

By the way, I love the reference to "dirtfarmers." Have you seen the videos of al Qaida training camps? Do you know what type of discipline and dedication (albeit misguided) it takes to pull off such an operation?

Perhaps it is you that is looking down you nose

Not sure I understand the context of your question, but in just about all cases....when you increase the number of 'decision makers' (legislators) its always more and more difficult to reach a comprimise.

Why do you think Defense Lawyers prefer 12 member jury's 6 member jury's?

Well at least you are finally admitting it was 20 dirt farmers. That's a little progress...

What are you asking ?

Are you wondering why we do not slaughter thousands of mohammedans, in the same way 20 mohammedans did on American Soil ?

Our President isn't a savage.
