I'm thinking specifically of the fact that you can hardly buy a shirt now that's not made of paper thin fabric so you can see your bra, (or lack therof) or cut so low your breasts are haning out, or it shows your midriff. I mean, really, ladies! We rag on celebs for showing up on the red carpet half naked, and yet so many women do the same thing. Have women in general become so vain or lost so much confidence they have to be half naked or showing off their nipples to feel beautiful?

Yes, I am generalizing. I don't mean to imply that all women dress that way, as I said, I myself don't. Just looking for opinions on why so many (it seems to me) DO.

Too many girls have lost the art of subtlety or leaving something to the imagination...which I see as an advantage for those of us who get it ;)

Three factors

1) A near half century old media assault on modesty starting with the sexual revolution.

2) Desperate attempts by insecure young girls to garner male attention (often the result of the lack of a decent father figure in their lives).

3) The mainstreaming of pornography

I agree with you 100%. I hate shopping now. I have a naturally large chest and I cant find a shirt that isnt low cut and doesnt make me look trashy.Even childrens clothes are getting out of control.I just dont understand. Its all degrading.

i dont dress like that. and there are plenty of clothing options if you do not wish to dress like that. of course i wear mens clothing mostly, because they actually fit without being so tight or low cut etc. and that is the wonderfulness of freedom is the ability for women or men to wear what they want. do some people wear stuff to 'fit in' or make themselves more appealing simply because society or the media says that is beautiful..yes.. but no one forces anyone to dress skimpy..

I think that happens when parents don't show their kids how to dress well. People can be fashionable and fully clothed and look more "sexy" than someone with their boobles swinging to-and-fro.

p.s. (men) I know boobles are sexy but they have a time and place and it's not on the streets with pre-teen daughters (gross)

i don't think you should generalize. i certainly don't dress like that and i don't know anyone that does. when i walk by the teen/juniors depts it appears their clothes are made that way. but the places where i shop use a higher quality fabric.
you should complain to the clothing manufactures. if they didn't make it, the GIRLS wouldn't buy it.

honestly not everyone dresses like that. there are stores that sell all types of clothing its just some ppls decision to wear what they want. dont say that all women do that because not everyone does.
