Go under mapquest.com. This will give you driving directions plus the exact miles to Las Vegas from San Francisco. I use it alot to keep from getting lost. Best of luck.

its 630 miles if you go the scenic route
SF-Sacramento-Reno-Carson City-Las Vegas
many roads on that route may be closed due to snow and ice in march so beware, best thing would be to fly and drive around the las vegas valley because there is plenty to see there
