Yes I have this and no one understands. They either think I'm crazy or need to see a priest.

I understand it does feel real and it scares you because you don't know if it's truly happening or if it's just a dream.

It feeds on your deepest fears and leaves you feeling lost and alone.

Mine is a demon to.

He sits on my chest and pins my arms over my head and whispers in my ear.

I can smell his nasty breath and he promises so much pain.

He use to threaten me but once I became a mom my fears change and now he threatens my child.

I'm going to hurt her. She's mine things like that.

It's something I would wish on no one.

I sleep with a small bible under my pillow when I start having them and I also demand it to leave in Gods name.

I tell it in Gods name leave me your not welcome here.

Maybe it's a dream or maybe it's real.
I don't know.

Good luck w/ yours and God Bless.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I've had something similar happen to me twice.

The first time I was sick with a fever and I thought my parents were in the room talking to me, only to find out later that they weren't in the room. This was explained as being a fever dream.

Then several years later I was having some kind of nightmare, I don't remember what it was but I kept telling myself that all I had to do was move and the nightmare would end. It took all my effort but I was able to wiggle my index finger which promptly woke me up.

I used to have these alot when I was younger. I felt like something grabbed me and would elevate me and fly me around my bedroom and I just could feel that it was an evil presence and I tried to speak and it felt like I was paralyzed. Towards the end of the incident I could very whisper a religous saying that grandmother always used whenever something bad would happen. Then it goes away once I can get the words out. I feel drained/tired and agitated the next day/

Sleep paralysis happens to everyone - it's a function of the body that keeps us from acting out our dreams. We're not supposed to wake up during this state, but when we do, it feels like you're paralyzed, like there's a heavy weight on your chest, feelings of other "beings" being in the room with you, and other symptoms. This is called "night terrors". Nightmares can also go along with this, and I think your cheek-licking demon (ick) would fall into that catagory. Google "night terrors" and read up on it.

Good luck!
