Living in the olden days was a lot different. Not having hardly any TV to watch because selection was poor and having a small screen and then watching everything in black and white was more of a challenge. And then TV's would break down easily and you would have to replace the tubes inside the TV set all the time. No ipods or computers or video games to play with made living life a lot different back in those times. You would pull out your record console and put on some 45 records to listen to some music and really get the feeling you were in a live performance with record playing. The big difference and how I see it, is back in those days a person had to use a lot more of their imagination for entertainment purposes. So there was a lot more reading, writing, and playing board games to help keep us entertained. Both eras offered advantages. I think developing close relationships with the opposite sex was much easier back then since there was much fewer distractions going on and couples could use this time to develop these intimate relationships. I wonder if that's why they called it the baby boomer times. This question brings up memories of a movie just before TV times called "The summer of 1942" It was about old time memories of what it was like to be a kid & young teen living on a farm during the time of WWII. This is a classic coming of age movie from those olden days as you say. I think growing up in the 50's taught people the price of values in one's life. Living in the 60's brought people to believe that living their dreams can be a reality. In modern times I think history will look back on the 1950's and 1960's and be remembered as a time when people lived a more carefree time but yet had the conveniences of modern technology before technology took over their lives. I miss those times of strong values, family, growth, carefree living, fresh ideas, flower children, free love, and the rebirth of music. I think those days had much more of a positive impact on ones life. Those days are and will always will be missed. Who wouldn't have wanted to live through the days of the birth of Rock and Roll.

Olden days is not when TV was rare, heck, I remember those days. Now if you really want to go back in time, then no I would rather be here today. Too much polution back then in the rivers and such, with logging and such. No air quality rules and such. Besides I like having more then two (yes only two, we could not pick up an ABC channel) channels. I like hot water whenever I want it, electric heat, electric blanket, etc. Yes I am 52 but still things are better now then back then. Also not everyone smokes now back then it seem that everyone did.

I like the internets. I'd never have gotten to see how pretty you are if it was the olden days. So now is a better choice.

Definitely old days - about the 1880 cause then there wasn't war (i dont think lol) and there was so much "environment\3, like trees everywhere. i would love to live in a little wooden hut with a few shops near bye - it would of also snowed a lot more then as well so there would b snow incrusted in the windows. there are still some places like that in the world today - i want to live there one day!

Id choose the 50's in the USA. Thats when there were all kinds of jobs the country was booming everything seemed so simple then compared to now. Plus the wars were over. If the 50's are not old enough then Id choose to stay where Im at.

Hmm interesting question. I've always wanted to travel back in time to the 50's. It just seemed like such an innocent decade. Houses and cars were actually affordable. People could afford to stay home and raise their kids. There was an overall feeling of peace. Didn't seem like the world was in such chaos as it is today. And i've always loved the clothes from that decade!!

But with the technology we have today (ie, computers, cell phones, internet, advances in science etc) its kind of hard to imagine not having all of that at my fingertips.

Considering that there was a lot more racism in the "olden days" I think I'm quite happy living now. Not to mention women were more objectified in those days too. No thanks. I'm happy getting my education, earning my own money, and being able to do whatever I want.
