He's no threat to the USA. Maybe it's happy being a communist country, it hasn't done anything wrong in over 40 years. Why are you being such a jingoist, do you know the American foreign policy will only make a horrid mess of the place for no reason?

In answer to your question: The United States has allowed the government to exist because there is no (or little) oil actually in Cuba to feed America's reckless thirst.

First the Fidel was put in power by the people of Cuba, the only opposition they had came from the rich, the privilege, foreign powers and those in the mafia. Oh yes and the Dictator Fulgencio Batista too.

Second before Fidel Castro blacks had no rights and were subject to the same abuse or worst then even black Americans.

Third like the U.S. in which most citizens lean towards capitalism and for that reason communism would never have a chance here, Cuban lean towards communism.

Forth each country has the right to govern and set their own policy. It is the obligation and civic duty of the people of that nation to set the expectation.

Fifth if there was no embargo on Cuba, Castro would had been long gone from power. But the countries internal economic system would had gone from communist to socialist and more successful.

Personally I'm for our Mix-Economy which we owe to the presence of both Republican and Democratic Ideology. Balancing both is the hard part, But as we most know it is worth it. And Last, a nation should fight for their own freedom even if they have to get equipped by outside supporters. How then can they be expected to value something given and not earn. Cuban need to get off the idea of sucking off the American cow like little cubs. Look at Puerto Rico, is that what Cubans want for Cuba. How can you have any pride in being leach. The U.S. should work with others but not solve every countries problems. The U.S. has its own issues here to take care of.

So no Cuban not American should get off their *** and do something about it immediately. The U.S. is not your nanny.

The word from a foreign born U.S. veteran of Hispanic descent.
The world is to complicated to be simplify.

English Translation of the Dominican National Anthem

Brave men of Quisqueya,
Let us sing with strong feeling
And let us show to the world
Our invincible, glorious banner.
Hail, O people who, strong and intrepid,
Launched into war and went to death!
Under a warlike menace of death,
You broke your chains of slavery.
No country deserves to be free
If it is an indolent and servile slave,
If the call does not grow loud within it,
Tempered by a virile heroism.
But the brave and indomitable Quisqueya
Will always hold its head high,
For if it were a thousand times enslaved,
It would a thousand times regain freedom.

National anthem of The Dominican Republic has value
because It was earned from sacrifice. Juan Pablo Duarte was inspired by the U.S. of America as Was Simon Bolivar. And so was the same for other nations in Latin America and the world.

I don't know why but America should really get involved. My family is from Cuba and they have gone through so much.

People keep answering by saying that Cubans should do it but they get killed and imprisoned for speaking out their minds. These people should know what it is like living in a communist government and be happy about living in a beautiful country like U.S.A.

Americans should really do something about this regimen immediately.

There are a number of excellent reasons
1) Because it is none of your business. Just because you p$$$ us off is not allowed in the international courts.
2) Does the Bay of Pigs ring a bell. Maybe because you can't.
3) How would you hate if Cuba wasn't there?
4) Because Canada wouldn't like it. Where could we go for a cheap winter holiday that wasn't overrun with loud obnoxious Americans.

Because Cuba is a sovereign nation. We have no right under international law or the US constitution to go into another country and remove its government from power.

Over the years, the US government has tried or planned many times to kill Castro, but all failed. Kennedy also attempted a military invasion with his Bay of Pigs fiasco.

Overhtrowing a government is easier said than done.

Alcohol is child's play compared to crystal meth and heroin. If you are referring to Red Bull, children can get it, however, any varieties mixed with whiskey or vodka already, cannot be purchased by a child. Its the same as Coke. any kid can go buy coke, but jack daniels sells premixed jack and coke. they can't buy coke mixed with jack already. Are you an idiot or what? Yes alcohol is a drug that is legal once u are 21, but you know what? Caffiene is a drug that is legal from birth. And you know what? I will have another cigarette, i will drink my wine and my smirnoff this holiday season, and any other d*mn time i want to, thank you. i am 25 i have earned to right to a casual drink or to get obliterated and drunker than a skunk any time i want to

Because Kennedy tried to invade and got a kick up his back side. Then the Vietnamese gave the US another kick and the Iraqis yet another.

There is a limit to how many kicks a country can take, even when led by mad men like Bush.

WE shouldn't be removing anyone from power in their own country. If the citizens of Cuba don't like communism, then THEY need to do something about it. WE cannot be the police force of the globe. If they want democracy , then THEY should overthrow, not sit and wait for us to figure it out for them.

Because there's really nothing there of interest and plus Fidel has promised to provide all politicians with the finest Cuban stogies known to man.
