that bread, potato chips and other "crushables" do NOT go into the same bag as the huge jar of mayo? Also...why can't they keep all the freezer items in the same bag so when I get home, I don't have to look in EVERY bag to get it all put away before it thaws?

Sorry for the outburst...can you guess where I just got back from?....lol.

To tryandfindus: I'm pointing out a job poorly done...pure and simple. They may not be paid well, but they ARE paid to have at least a little common sense.

And as for compassion?....I'M working on Christmas too. So...YOU enjoy YOUR holiday dinner, okay?

I always try to get things out of my cart and keep them together- like all the frozen together and all the breads and chips together that way the mindless little twits dont have to think- they just have to bag it!!!!! LOL Thats cuz so many of them are teenagers nad they just plain dont care!!!!! So I take it an extra step for them and try my best to keep it all together for them! Merry Christmas to u!

Yeah, I know what you mean. Some baggers use way too many bags, putting like one or two items in each, but others (like the one I got last night) pack a few bags full of your stuff, whether it's bread or whatever. As for the frozen items, good baggers will do that. But if you have your frozen stuff all separated when they check it, they may not feel like gathering it all. If you put all your frozen items together on the belt, they should be bagged that way. If not, the bagger is just ignorant.

In all fairness...leave the poor guys alone!

It's the holiday season, and this time of year is the busiest time of year for retail stores, including grocery stores.
These kids - yes, a lot of them are high school and college students - are being forced to work during their well-deserved break.

While you're enjoying time with friends and family, some of these poor people don't even get Christmas off!

Yeah, somebody screwed up in bagging your groceries. Deal with it. It's not the end of the world.
These kids are harried, stressed and who knows what else - having to deal with irate customers, *much* longer than usual hours, and Ebenezer Scrooge-like managers.

Yeah, some are temps who don't give a hoot about their job, as they will be leaving right after school starts again.
But some of them are year-long employees, hard-working and dedicated.

Show a little compassion!

Oh how sad! I go to Vons and I have never had that problem. They even double bag all my frozen food to help them stay colder! Maybe ya need to change stores?

I have same problem. When I ask for better bagging, I get the 'duh, say what' look from both checker and bag person. Maybe it's a ploy to try to get us to do our own bagging to save on store costs.
