Good point. If you were injured in an accident your medical treatment would be covered by universal care and you wouldn't have to deal with the auto insurance company - a big improvement IMO.
However, car insurance would still be their own companies and they would still be covering liability for the driver. Whoever is administering healthcare would still want to recover its costs from the insurance company. But they would sue the autoinsurance company and it would be behind the scenes and not involve you at all.
Insurance companies sue each other all the time. If you have ever received medical treatment from an accidental injury you know that the medical insurance company will contact you to find out whose property the accident occured on so they can recover some of their costs.

It just seems to reason that coverage for a car accident would be covered under universal health, instead of car insurance. Do you think the insurance industry will ever allow the public to kill these cash cows? Thier industry would suffer quite a financial hit in both areas.

It would depend on how the universal health care law was written, how the system was set up.
As it is, if you have health insurance your car insurance doesn't get less expensive. It still covers you, but your own health insurance is 'primary', so the car insurance won't pay unless your health insurance refuses to pay for some reason.
The way insurance companies work in the US, they probably would be the same with universal health care, unless the govt. specifically forbade them to include health coverage.

No, because it wouldn't reduce costs.
If you injure me through your bad act or negligence, you're responsible for my injuries, and have to pay for my medical bills. Even if there were universal health care, that provider would still seek reimbursement from you, so you'd still need car insurance that would cover it.
Add to that the enormous extra costs incurred by adding a whole new layer of thousands of lazy incompetent government employees to administer such a plan, and the total cost goes UP drastically, not down.

Universal Health Care would only cover medical treatment related to the crash, you'd still need auto insurance.
The insurance industry is doing everything they possibly can to discourage the American people from wanting Universal Health Care.
The US spends more on Health Care than any country that has UHC and those countries cover EVERY citizen.
Universal Health Care guarantees doctors will receive payment.
Universal Health Care guarantees EVERY American will be able to go see a doctor when they need to.
Universal Health Care means there will be no more HMOs to deny coverage for a pre-existing medical condition.
Universal Health Care means there will be no more HMOs to deny life saving operation.
Universal Health Care would be paid for ALL of us through slightly higher taxes.
OR
We could pay for Universal Health Care by ending Corporate Welfare which cost the US taxpayers $92 Billion in 2006 alone. (Cato Institute)
Universal Health Care would cost about $100 Billion per year and cover every citizen and lower the cost of co-pays on prescription drugs drastically.
Medicare costs over $300 billion per year. Why not just end Medicare and save the American people $200 Billion per year by switching to Universal Health Care? If we ended Corporate Welfare we'd save another $92 Billion in US tax payers money. That means we'd save $292 BILLION per year AFTER we covered EVERY citizen with UHC!
According to True Majority.org, we could fix our schools K-12, address the issue of World Hunger, fully fund Headstart programs, and fund research and development of clean, renewable alternative energy resources for $50 billion per year. (and that $50b included Children's healthcare which would be covered under UHC) And it wouldn't touch any funds from our Defense Department.
That would leave the US with over $240 BILLION dollars which could be used to repay social security($80 billion per year), pay down part of the national debt ($80 billion per year) and give the American tax payers a tax cut ($80 billion per year)!
That seems win-win to me. Some Democratic spending on Social programs that serve the greater good of America, combined with some Republican tax cuts!
Thoughts? Questions?

That won't happen, because employers who don't continue to provide coverage to their employees will have to pay far more. And even if they are dumb enough to cut your benefits, chances are you'll get better benefits than you're getting now on the government plan. As it stands now, millions of people are having their employer health benefits cut. It's happened to me more times than I can count, until eventually I didn't have any coverage at all. At least under Obama's plan, I wouldn't have to rely the emergency room and watch my credit go down the toilet when can't pay the two thousand dollars worth of bills that come thereafter.

Lots of insurance costs should have dropped due to the so-called tort reform. But have your insurance bills gone down? No. Insurance companies whine, but never follow through on their economic gains.

uh...injuries that result as the fault of another individual may require care not covered under a universal coverage; and in any case, if you cause bodily harm, you should be responsible for paying for treatment.
