Yea I know I'm gonna catch alot of ish for this but f it. Now seriously think about, Tupac has to be one the most overated rap artist ever. I'll be the first to admit that there are very few rappers that can make you feel thier pain or tell a story better than pac but lyrically his style was pretty simple. By this I mean is delvery was pretty cookie cutter and he didn't use alot of word play. Like I said I don't think he's sucks by no means (ill jam some pac any day of the week) but if you listen to his raps he rhymes off alot of the same words (henneeeeesy and weeeeed, lol).

rap music in the 90's was the begging of this era. if you compare music from now to hen. yea the '00's are better. but if you think 2pac is wack... you haven't heard Underground rap. .. remind you pac was representing the west coast.

You just misinterpret what rap is, actually he did put things in lamest terms so that everyone would get the point.Common and Talib were out when pac was they didnt get the recognition because they were to lyrical for the simple or I mean average mind.Pac was not about being the best or greates he was about making a difference. And in todays day in age you have to make B.S songs for the norm to understand and get radio play.

And why is everybody steeling cookie cake cutter, lol I said that s**t as a joke.

what other rapper shot some cops and got money for it. Pac was real.Tupac was the greatest rapper. all you guys who are agreeing with the question guy probably think lil wayne or soulja boy are better. they ain't ****! One thing about pac is he wasn't a sell out. He was very intelligent. went to a school of arts. wrote poetry and acted. he is militant minded. raised by black panthers. wanted to see his people rise. very political. nowadays rappers are rappin about bein up in the club and poppin bottles. i guess theyre catering to their newer fans. Tupac was very diverse. he rapped about fun, sadness, war, fear, an a whole lot of other stuff. so i guess to answer your question, i would say i hope you are one of the few who would think he is overrated.

I think Tupac is good but I definitely do think he's a little overrated. It would have been interesting to see where he would have taken his style and evolved a bit ... but like you said it was pretty simple stuff most of the time. A great writer though ...

nope his style was very unique. i tried to break it down, theres no pattern to his breaks and lines. the content may be the same but the way he delivers is his own. and he sorta sings in some ways

I will have to disagree with you pa, I think B.I.G was overrated! Just cause the cat was hot at the time of his death...people praise him (I'm talking about B.I.G) Yes ok grant it 2Pac style was different but that is why he is classic...along with his poetry...with his deep roots, being a son of a Black Panther has made him the way he was.

Just my opinion

real talk...like if he was still alive(or well if he was able to show himself) people would come at him for the same sh*t they come at rappers now, he was pretty basic about rhyme scheme, alot of his lyrics was redundant, he really switched his style up more than Lil Wayne did, Pac was real mainstream at first then he was a gangsta thug life on his stomach, give me dumbs down its the truth

Tupac is WAY overrated. His rhymes are weak and he didnt break any new ground that better rappers before him didnt already do.

Because he died young he's considered a legend. How so?He and Biggie sucked as rappers. Maybe if Chuck D LL cool J or Run DMC all died young they would be looked upon as legends like Tupac. As far as sympathy,I have no sympathy for a guy who sexually assaults women and attracts violence.

Yes. And he got so many passes. He snitched and told everybody Biggie got him shot. THAT IS SNITCHING PAC!! If you think he got you shot, then handle it! Dont go and make a song about it snitch.
