I don't think the battery will read not replicable probably it will say not rechargeable have another look if it is only a battery operated model the battery usually a 9volt or flat type is easily changed, try pulling it out of it's holding clamp by the bottom of the battery then gently pull the two connections off the replace with a new one, which will probably give you a blast for a few seconds, ,most shops or garages will stock them, if the smoke alarm needs replacing it's usually only a matter of two small screws.but be careful it is not a mains alarm.
The battery number, I am sure is a PP3.
If you have any fear of replacing the smoke alarm yourself possibly a member of the fire crew will come along and help .if you give the fire station a call they will either help or tell you where you can get help.
I do hope this has helped.keep warm keep safe, and have a merry Christmas when it comes

Battery is worn out. Many people now change the battery on Remembrance day each year[Veterans day in the States ??]It is just a useful way to remember to change the battery. No point in having a smake detector that does not work at the crucial time

Your battery is low. Change your batteries once a year, do it on some holiday, makes it easy to remember. I give my kids the batteries as a stocking stuffer, and they change em for me.
