My name is Cassidy and I'm male, and I've never been given any trouble about it. Cassidy is most definitely a male's name, but the same was once true of Ashley, and these days there are far more women named Cassidy than men.

Given that Cassidy is simply an Anglicization of masculine Caiside, I'd obviously *prefer* it on a boy. But considering its current overuse as a trendy female crossover, I wouldn't personally use it for either.

well for both. Thats my name, and i'm a girl. I love it bc we've only met 2 other ppl w the name. One was a boy who was born the same day as me. If you use it for a guy, do a more masculine midle name, so if he wants he can use that at like school
