Have you all noticed that those who do not support comment by e-mail or by IM, sem to be the most out?

Those of us that want to help others see that the advice they accept can seem to be totally backward to what the facts represent? It always seems to be the ones that restrict e-mail or IM's or both! Be on guard with these, as they often want their ideas, in stead of what would be right! What did you find in this? God bless...Earl

It's just a personal preferance. I've received some pretty rude emails so I can understand why some people decide to eliminate that problem.
I have an open email but I don't appreciate people who try to change my opinions or perspectives on the issues. If I wanted that, I'd just call my mom and discuss politics with her.

Just indicates how close-minded these individuals are. The only truth they have is what they have created in their own mind and do not want to be proven wrong. Since this is an open forum, I think that Yahoo!Answers should make everyone available by email.

LadySable......you do not have an open mind..and your response to this question is verification. To have an honest debate, you would have to be open to listening to both sides of the issues - you have indicated that you have no desire to hear any opinion besides those you agree with. I have sympathy for you and those like you who do not understand that it takes open and honest debate to resolve issues.

*That statement is not necessarily so. Try giving a sensible answer and you get jumped on by every brain dead idiot on YA. They report you because they can't bode your answer. There so far out there they won't listen to reason and logic. That's because they have neither. You asked for my opinion,I gave it. What do you think about it?

e-mail me whenever you want... [e-mail]. I am always up for hearing a different viewpoint. All I ask, leave the name calling and deragotory comments out and I will too.

I keep my information private for a reason. I am most happy to read and respond to all opinions however I am not interested in being harassed by Liberals trying to impose their misguided beliefs on me. Perhaps if they were more tolerant in listening to or accepting the fact that others may have a different point of view I wouldn't have to remain private.

To a Liberal it is acceptable to harass, demean and stalk those with opposing viewpoints. To a Liberal it is acceptable to spit upon our troops and piss on the American flag. To me, all of the above are unacceptable.

You, Becca, are the reason that people do not support accepting emails or IM's. I am willing to listen to opposing viewpoints. I am not willing to open myself to harassment from those such as yourself. Liberals will not listen to opposing viewpoints nor will they accept that not everyone believes as they do. I am most happy to listen and discuss but I am not accepting of harassment, belittlement or stalking. When a Liberal can say the same, perhaps he\\ will freeze over and Global Warming will save the day. No need to feel sorry for me, I am fine.

I do not allow IM because I do not have one.
I do not allow Email, because I was sent too many spam harassing e-mails because of my job.

Some of them actually block you too.

I welcome opposing views as i am not afraid to discuss my position. What gets me though are those who raise their voice when they should be strengthening their argument. Name calling, venom, vitriol...it's sad really.

I've noticed this to be true as well! Those of us who limit the options for communication often seem to be the ones who are the most stubborn and unwilling to contemplate others' points of view or opinions.
