I have a degree in communications, but my friends are making good money doing computer stuff. I enjoy working on computers, and would like to get paid working with them. My old roommate does IT work and makes good money.

Are there any schools that I can go to to learn? I will probably move back to the SF Bay area, so if anyone knows of any schools up there please let me know.

honestly- run far away from ITT.. I went there, it's a joke. You are better off figuring out what you want to work with and getting certified.
You won't make much money out of the gate so don't expect 100k/yr to start.
In a recent article published by Certification magazine, employers are looking more at certifications and hands on vs. degrees.
The cost is kind of steep up front for the tests etc. but if you factor in what you'll be making when you get done- and then the scope of earnings/learning for the future- your upfront doesn't mean isht.

No need to go back to school for more traditional college work. Take some vendor specific courses in the area. If your into network admin then look at your MCSE/MCSA coupld that with your 4 year degree and you will be fine. I would try to pick of a tech job someplace. Now you may only make 8 bucks an hour but you'll need to get some experience before you can move up to the big systems. But dont get yourself pigeon holed, work on what ever you can when you can, just get experience.

good luck!!
