What exactly are you asking? If you are asking can you hook Xbox Live up to a broadband connection, then, yes you can.
If you are asking if you can use a USB cable to hook the Xbox Live up to the network, then, no you can't. You need a router or wireless router, with a wired, (RJ45 cable) or wireless, (wireless adapter) in the Xbox Live.
The Xbox comes with the ability to be hooked up to a network connection. It may or may not come with a cable; it depends on the package you purchased. If it came without a cable, you need to purchase one. Whether or not the Xbox came with wireless capabilities, which means with a wireless adapter either installed internally, or an external adapter you need to plug into the Xbox, also depends on the package you purchased.
If all you have is an Xbox Live, then you need to decide how you wish to hook it up, wired or wirelessly. If it will be wired, go out and buy a router, and a Cat 5 or Cat 6 ethernet cable.
You will need to hook up the router to the network connection, which is really not difficult.
After you have the router hooked up, you need to add the Xbox Live to the network, with whichever connection type you choose.
