With dynamic IP assignments, your address lease should expire every N hours--usually every 48 hours or so. However, if you turn off your modem it should get a "new" address from the pool. That said, the ISP's DHCP service might assign an IP based on your modem's MAC address so you might get the same one each time. This makes it easier for them (and the FBI) to find you... ;)

actually to get an ip address other than your default networking you connect your computer directly to the modem.... and restart your computer
or connect directly and go to start>run>type in cmd>then in the screen that appears type in ipconfig/release>then type in ipconfig/renew
