for about the first month i was pretty self conscious. but then i forgot they were there and i was fine. and almost everyone has braces its just not you. anytime you feel down about the braces just think about how nice your teeth will look after them...and how the kids without braces who (if they do) make fun of you will look when there teeth look like crap.

At first, I hated them, and felt really quite self conscious, but now, I'm quite used to having them. Lots of girls in my class have braces now, so I don't feel like the odd one out anymore. I like being able to choose different coloured bands too - I've got red and green for Christmas at the moment :)
Plus, I just think of how wonderful I'll look with gorgeous straight teeth after! Mine were a right mess before.

I had braces for 4 years.....at first i didn't like them and they were a pain but then i got used to them and then i didn't even know they were in my mouth.
I just got them off like a year ago and I LOVE MY TEETH!
they look soooooooo much better so no it didn't affect my confidence.

I had braces.. i mean the metal ones. every one else in my school had invisalign.. i looked so awkward. my mom wouldn't let me get invisalign.. she said "why waste the money" .. i was really upset about getting them.. especially for starting 7th grade.. to me it was "ill look like a dork in junior high". at first people made fun of me.. i ended up dissing them back.. and at one point became... plane mean. my friends gave me a wake up call when i almost lost them all. my braces are gone now.. my teeth are perfect and white... im in highschool.. and everything is fine.

no, I had braces at 13, got them off by 15.

and no, they didn't, don't let it afect you, just remember, after all is said and done , you'll have a million dollar smile!!!

Braces arn't that bad. You may not be able to whistle that good, but it'll be fine!

i was supposed to get braces but i got invisalign instead. i was scared people would know and de throne me, but they never found out, so no, braces haven't affected my confidence at all.

Yes they did. It was fine though after they were off and I was confident again.

Not really. If anything, it should've helped it, since my teeth were in hideous shape and it couldn't be worse. But I think it didn't really affect anything, especially since I didn't really show my teeth much anyway.

It did at first because, I knew I had them on...
But after like 2 months of having them, I forgot I even had them on.
