Some bleed for MONTHS, some don't bleed at all, and some have "regular" periods.

This is normal, but IMO I would not get anymore shots.

Depo provera wreaks havoc to many many women's bodies, there are only a lucky few that don't suffer healthwise because of it.

Please google "depo provera lawsuit" and check out the reviews at http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx

I'm a former user and I'm so glad I'm off the shot!

I think you should contact your doctor! Or the clinic, whoever gave you the shot! It is supposed to stop your bleeding completely! I can only say that, after I was given a shot of Depo, all bleeding stopped for a year. A year later, I had to get it to stop the bleeding, since there was too much too fast! So ask your doctor, and find out what can be done. After the shot wore off, I ended up with month-long periods every other month!

I had this same problem when I was on the shot. This was a few years ago, and from what I remember the doctor told me that there is that small chance of people (like less than 10%) that there bodies wont accept the shot. Meaning, you may continue to bleed or have other reactions. One side of my face broke out really bad, and like you I continued to bleed. I would let your doctor know what is going on, and see if there is either another birth control method you could be put on, or maybe something they can give you to stop the bleeding. But definitely let them know about this.

I think everyone reacts to the shot differently. Most people stop having a period all together. But some people react like you. I was on it once, and I bled for a month every three months. That's one month on, two months off. They recommended that I wait it out a year and see if it levels off. It didn't, so after a year, I got off it.
They also say to at least give it that first 3 months to level off. But when you go in for that second shot, express your concern. They might give you advice to keep going, or they might ask you to consider something else. I'm on the mini-pill right now, but they might recommend better options for your situation. I've heard all the new rave is mirena and the ring.
Good luck, I hope they give you either some hope that it will stop, or alternative options.

Well, most people who are on Depo dont bleed at all but you really need to talk with them about it when you go to get your next shot. Not all birth control is good for all people. And this could cause you more problems if you continue to bleed.

No way...that is not normal. I was on depo for several years and my period stopped the entire time. You may need to get off that type of BC..ask your doctor.

oh yes, it will stop. I was on depo for a year and after about 4 months, my periods went away and I didn't have another one AT ALL for 5 years!!!

that's one of the symptoms of a depot which totally sucks! I did the same thing and I had to take the pill to get it to stop until it got out of my system. I'd suggest unless you like the sight of daily bleeding, stop it and use an alternative method.

depo messed up my daughter's cycle bad, she finally got off of it, it took about 5 months for her to get back to normal, then she just used the pill (she was 18)
