A few years ago I picked up Vice City and then I played San Andreas obsessively. I am almost 30y/o and these games are REALLY fun. The fact that the premise is hyperviolent, at times racist and based in a world of sex and drugs makes me feel a bit guilty. I am not really conservative or religious. I just always thought that these games were for 15 y/o high school kids w/ too much testosterone. Has any other adult played Grand Theft auto and felt guilty about loving the game?

Absolutely not!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a gamer for several years now, and I'm also pushing 30, and whenever a new GTA game comes out, I play it with a keen sense of passion.

There is no maximum age limit to playing videogames, so you shouldn't feel guilty or apprehensive about it. And it doesn't matter if the subject matter is questionable in some people's eyes either.

Can't wait for GTA IV to be released!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really. I'm 50 and lets face it...its only a virtual world. What I find amazing are the simpletons who can't seem to seperate virtual reality from reality.

I played GTAVC for hours. I also played GTASA but got alittle tired of it and put it away. I played The Godfather and enjoyed that. Nothing like tossing the occasional shopkeeper through a window or smashing open his cash register using his noggin. Same with Mafia (a great game by the way) and I'm anxiously awaiting Mafia 2.

So now I'm in the middle of Silent Hunter III and am prowling off the coat of England in my U-Boat. I play in real time so I can walk away from the computer and go about a chore or two at home with nothing lost...or usually gained.

So don't feel guilty. Kill a few Germans...or monsters, or zombies...or whoever the target of the day is. After all...it isn't real.

I really don't see how the Grand Theft Auto games are Racist really. I think that Rockstar just explores a different culture/environment in each game and it can bring about certain stereotypes like in San Andreas, but it's just a video game.

The Grand Theft Auto game series are rated M for Mature and these games are meant for people 17 years old and up, so the games aren't really for 15 year olds, but 15 year olds do play the games.

I guess because you're a little older you must think that most video games are just for the younger generation, but video games are meant for EVERYBODY these days. Video games have evolved so much since the times of Mario, and they have become much more realistic and life-like so don't feel guilty, just enjoy the games because games like GTA were meant for everyone.

I'm 25 years old and feel no guilt playing GTA, period. And I don't have any urge to go on a shooting spree or get involved in drugs.

I don't plan on stop playing it when I get older either. As long as I know I have adult responsibilities outside the game (working, paying bills, etc) there should be no problem enjoying yourself or spending a day relaxing by playing Grand Theft Auto.

I'll admit sometimes i actually feels kinda bad shooting rampage on the street even though its a game especially the women and the old one ,and when video games graphics are more and more realistic by the day it just keep getting worse. but luckily i played GTA on the PC. So what's the solutions? mods of course! I change the people in town into pikachu and their friends, tank into a giant Banana and doraemon as a police, and man aren't those feelings gone or what lol XD.

i'm no adult but i have never felt gilt towards a really fun game. and theres nothing wrong with loving a game even if it does have drugs and killing and all that stuff. aslong as you are not doing what you see, or in this case play, then you should be fine.

i like to drive around killing the fake looking people, or sometimes i may just snipe them from roofs. i think its some what a joy people get out of doing things that they can not do in real life, but it looks real enough.

Good Luck!

I love them, and I don't feel guilty about them. They're too over the top to be misconstrued as reality. I think even 15 year old kids get that it is just a joke. We don't give them enough credit. The Columbine kids of the world are a very small minority.
