Christians that are celebrating the reason for the season should not have to work. The same way the Jewish get their holidays through out the year. We have to work when they are off so maybe they should work when we are off for Christmas.
Or maybe all the atheist should work on Christmas. They don't believe so why do they celebrate Christmas?

Yes, I sometimes work on Christmas Day. I'm a nurse and look after elderly folk.
I'm working on Boxing Day this year though. I have Christmas Day off to be with my kids.

When I was single and didn't have children I would step up and work on Christmas & Easter and other holidays where people would want off. But there was a trade involved. I would tell my boss that I expected other holidays off, like New Year Eve/Day & the day after Halloween. As a mom now, it would depend.

I work as a housewife and stay at home mom. So it's a 24/7 job to me and very rewarding!
That means I'll be "working" on cleaning the house and preparing holiday meals from scratch on christmas eve/christmas day as well.

I used to work as a HHA so we would be on shift 24/7.. It's really not that big a deal working on Christmas.. Although, I do think that it fair to rotate holidays since I got "stuck" working Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.. I don't think that's fair... It should be shared among the other employees...
Good luck

I'm shocked that I actually have the day off. I work in a doctor's office and we are open EVERY SINGLE DAY weekends, holidays, even new years eve and the day after thanksgiving. Have a heart people. I was going to take some time off this year but lucky me, I can't afford to so now I won't be able to spend time with my husband of 6 months and my new family.

I'll work if I get double pay. Unfortunately, I'm paid on salary, so I won't be working that day or the day before. My boss just gave us our Christmas bonus, so we're pretty much set for the holidays.

Yes, Christmas is a time to spend with families, all of my family is in another state, so I would work for some co-worker that has a family and wants to spend time with them.
