Both actually. It's nice to open a gift and anticipating what you're getting. It's also good to receive money as it can always be put to good use. And it's the thought that counts too.

I want no cash a christmas - no gift card either. They are not fun to open, they show that the giver doesn't know you or didn't bother to spend time thinking about you, and it means I just have more shopping to do - and it's one thing when your dad or grandfather does it, but quite another when anyone else does. All in all I'd rather you spent half the money and got me fancy chocolates instead. Peace!

I would much rather recieve money.because you can spend the money and wrapping gifts thats it.
