The economy shows signs of fatigue. Deceleration employment growth 4.6% slowing gains in manufacturing, non mfg, auto’s further weakening in the already reeling housing market, mounting credit concerns.

N O, he will be remembered as a man who did not worry about making friends, but defending this country against "people" who want to destroy America and kill Americans!!

They did work. Those tax cuts came at the same time as everyone else's. All tax brackets got tax cuts at the same time. Their intended purpose was an "injection" of cash into the economy to head off the recession that would have resulted from the 9/11 attacks. The airline industry was on the verge of collapse and the markets were falling. The tax cuts rapidly put more money back into circulation and staved off the collapse. I wouldn't expect you to remember since you people can't see past the fact that rich people got to keep a little more of their money. All the tax cuts in the world wouldn't have prevented the pandemonium created by the real estate crash (though Barney Frank pulling his head out of his a$$ might have). The added tax revenue created by the short-term addition of extra cash into the economy couldn't have held off the collapse that ensued after the large investment firms started dropping. Taking those tax cuts away right now can only hurt the economy further as tax hikes act as brakes and slow economic growth because the people paying the tax (business owners) have less money to use to make money.

The economy just grew at 4.9% in the 3rd qtr, can u come up with some new anti bush arguments...the ones about the wealthy don't hold much water...4.9% growth helps a lot of people get jobs and keep them...
