Tom Tancredo is leaving the Presidential race today, the ONLY candidate that is really tough on illegal immigration. The other candidates get all the greedy CEO money to keep the illegal immigrants coming in, like Hillary who gets the most. Do you think we have any hope of true democracy on this issue now?

I was for Tom Tancredo...probably the most conservative of the candidates. Now that he's gone, I'm sending my support to Duncan Hunter. If he leaves, I'll be in the camp of the candidate that has the next best track record on maintaining the integrety of our borders.

Honestly, if Hillary wasn't in this thing, I'd go 3rd party again!

Tancredo was never really a serious candidate. Everything he said was really 'out there' to get attention from the press.

The illegal immigrant issue is a phony issue. I don't mean it's not a real problem, but the way certain Republicans talk about it, they use it only as a distractive issue, to keep from talking about issues that aren't so easy for them to talk about. It's a problem they can build up to sound worse than it is, and they can propose simple-sounding solutions that they know won't work, like building a wall along the border.

In fact the real solutions to the problem would be more complicated than they could explain in the 15 seconds they are given to answer the question. Politicians don't even like to -discuss- issues that can't be answered in 15 seconds.

The fact is, -both- parties LOVE illegal immigrants. Democrats love them because newly-naturalized citizens almost always vote Democratic, like 95% of them. Republicans love them because they work cheap and a pool of ready immigrant labor keeps down wages for -all- working people

Have you ever heard of Duncan Hunter? He's as avid an anti illegal immigration advocate as Tancredo. And he has just as much of a chance of getting elected, too!

Vote for Rudy!

Are you forgetting about Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter?

Paul has already stated that he wants very strong borders and he was appalled that our government had taken border guards off of our borders to send them to Iraq.

This is his six point plan:
Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward
for breaking our laws.
No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

Ron Paul is anti-illegal immigration. But yes, I agree with you-Tancredo would have been tough on them. But look for him to still be active in his office on this issue.

I think you need to look at Congressman Ron Paul's voting record. Voted YES on the Secure Fence Act of 2006, YES on the Immigrant Law Enforcement Act of 2006 as well as a YES vote on a bill that would have forced hospitals to provide information on illegals they treated in the ER.

I'm going about my normal day.

Mitt Romney is also very strongly against it if you didn't find out yet.

When he was Governor in Massachusetts he tried to make it possible for state troopers to deport illegals if found, but it was over rided.

He is against giving state intuition to illegal kids.
Do your research and you will find Romney is against it all across the board.
