valerian sounds like some kind of disease. That name also sounds like an african american name. It has been noted that some employers throw applications if the name appears to be ethnic. Also, make sure the name has some meaning behind it. I know a friend whose sons name is Jah-son. The name means God's son. It's nice to know that your mother put some thought into naming you with something that has meaning and not just a name that sounds like it was made up cause it sounded cute
