If Joe married Mary in January, divorced in June, and the Joe married Debbie in December, that would be three people getting married during the year. Maybe Joe would only count as one person, even though he got married twice.

I stay in a rural city in the South West and we've suffered very much from Labour cutbacks. a lot of community submit workplaces have been closed in the encircling villages and a great style of of folk who stay open have not got each and all of the mandatory centers. community and rural pubs have additionally suffered with the mixed pressures of the smoking ban, the upward push in the fee of booze and the shortcoming of investment in public delivery. All this at a time while the council tax has long previous up by over 10%!!! thank you, Mr Brown, thank you.

I expect they counted certificates of marriage that were recorded officially in which case each would represent a couple. You are correct. It takes two to make a marriage.

Math is not my strongest subject, since I've forgotten much of what I learned, but it would appear that should be an even number. LOL
If it were the # of couples, that would make more sense.--Luvs

Good question! I think it should be even...UNLESS it means 4,153,237 marriage licenses were issued. Mmmmmmm! Where did you read that?

I would think that would be an even number. I was terrible at math when I was a kid in school, but somehow we all learn
it.
