Now that Iraq is on the up and up, liberals and the liberal media need another political edge. Will their bad-mouthing of the economy and pessimistic attitudes bring on a recession just in time for the Nov. elections?

The whole messed up economy is not libs fault it financing stupid wars. Look at how the dollar has slipped world wide, and the housing market bubble has popped. If the world should turn to the Euro instead of the Dollar you will see a crash that would turn America into a third world country overnight.

This war is FAR from over. The political situation in Iraq is a mess and they are still bombing each other. As far as the economy, I don't know how old you are but you have a lot to learn. Since the 1960s wages have gone up 40% but Campbell's Soup (as a small example) has gone up over 400%. The rich may be doing fine but the middle class is hurting. Hopefully the Democrats will straighten out the mess that the Rebuplicans have caused for the last 40 years.

That would assign too much power to one part of the political spectrum.
The numbers themselves don't lie, but they are subject to interpretation. Best example -- in 1992, we were essentially coming out of a small downturn by fall. However, the Democrats ran hard on a platform that the economy should have been better, and the Republicans never got the message out to counter it. It was a factor in the election.

One thing I've learned: you can't predict the elections 11 months in advance. You can't predict world events one day in advance, sometimes.
