I agree that some of the people who make that observation are racist themselves. Still others I believe take themselves too seriously and believe they can start some sort of internet revolution that will take hold and sway people not to vote him. But the world does not revolve around YA. This is a tactic commonly used by republican supporters and maybe even some supporters of other democrats.

The only facts are that Oprah helps people of all races, not just blacks and is one of the most philanthropic people in the world. She has used many millions of her own dollars to help people at home and around the world. Sure she built a school in Africa, and she also gives her own millions to The Threshold Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, UNICEF and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Katrina victims, and many other direct donations to schools, hospitals, and needy individuals.

In 2007 its time to stop the playing the idiot race game. It is insulting to me as a black man to suggest that I am incapable of evaluating candidates on the merits of their positions. I'm not a supporter of Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes, Condoleeza Rice, Al Sharpton, or Colin Powell because their positions are not aligned with mine. If I am able see beyond race and evaluate the issues, certainly an intelligent person like Oprah can as well.

I agree with Nikki in that I really don't care who celebrities endorse.

As far as your question is concerned, Oprah is a racist if and only if Obama's skin color is a factor in her decision to support him. If she is supporting him on the basis of his positions, his experience or other factors, then she is not a racist.

Since Oprah is the only one who can answer this question, I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say she's not a racist unless otherwise proven so.

I supported Obama in the previous I ever knew of Obama. What do I mean? properly, for the time of the completed Bush fiasco, I stepped forward a competent understanding of our political subject and a few reliable evaluations of what i did no longer want and what i wanted in our next president. when I heard each and all of the applicants communicate approximately their perspectives, there became little question in my techniques that Obama may be my decision. he's a clever honorable individual..with braveness and imaginative and prescient, and could make a great US. president. he's the candidate that I perceived is maximum keen to rock the boat in Washington DC and flow removed from politics as customary and definitely artwork for the yankee human beings and combat the lobbysts and particular pursuits. the way he has funded his campaign additionally potential he's the single that is least bought and paid for by huge donations from company types. particular he collects a number of that, yet maximum of his funds comes from the over a million million small donors he has who regularly occurring $one hundred funds per donation.

Oprah is far from racist, lets face it, she caters to middle class white women on her show and the way she lives her life, so, in fact, I have heard many black people call her a Sellout! So, i think she supports him because he is trying to bring fresh ideas to the good ol' boys club.

What other candidate in any other election has she come out for? She's been famous and influential for how long? All of a sudden, a black candidate appears.

I have to give her credit for not backing Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. At least she has some vetting process.

But this isn't the only thing that is racist and sexist about her. Watch her show for a while. Read up on her school in Africa. hmmm...

I'm not saying she is anti-white. But she is definitely pro-black. Racist, but not necessarily bad.

I think that's something democrats made up. I think she's endorsing him over any other candidate because they're both from Illinois. Mush like Matthew McConnehay and Ron Paul are both from Texas.

It was what she said and how she said it. Take it how you want but we all know where she was coming from.

who cares: I bet you are black and that you think your race is still being oppressed by the man.

The reason she has been taken to task on this is rather clear.

She has never done what she is doing for Obama for any other candidate. She did not just become an influential character in the last year or two. She has been influential for many years but only when the candidate is of the same race as she is does she pull out all the stops to get him votes. You do the math.

Things are not always as they appear but it is not without cause that these sort of questions are being asked.
