The holiday season is about giving MORE THAN you receive. It's a time to celebrate, spend time with family and friends, exchange gifts and eat a delicious Christmas dinner. There will always be givers and receivers but Christmas is mainly about giving.

Bah-humbug. Find someone who will truly appreciate a gift.

At church, I plucked a card from the Christmas Tree for teenage girl who is looking for bath products. I had so much fun putting together a great assortment.

My friends and I don't need anything from each other. We give each other small gifts that must represent something in our friendship. It's fun to see who can be the most creative for $5 and under.

If someone in my world says, "Don't get me anything." I respect those wishes. If the person is particularly close, I'll make them a special card with a special sentiment. If I've photographed them during the year, I enclose a copy or sometimes have it framed. (Make sure it's a photo the person will love.)

The concept of giving is about giving to those who are less fortunate than we are, or who can benefit the most from some help or kindness, not those who are greedy for more material wealth. Big difference.

There are very needy people on this planet.
Don't dismiss them.

Plus it is fine to give to your loved ones.

I never heard of anyone hating other for receiving .
