Simply remind yourself to smile. As you pick up a present, read the card, look at the person who gave it to you and say, "Thank you so much. I can't wait to open it." Then smile as you say, "How (wonderful-cool-fabulous-unique)? I love, love, love it."

Well its not hard is it? Are you in control of your face or does it just take on expressions of its own free will? So every present you open maintain a happy face - its realy not rocket science. Communication is about much more than words. Your tone and physiology say much more about what you are saying than words. If you are wearing that face then the truth is that you probably didn't like the gift. You will have to concentrate hard in order not to look ungracious. You would only have to do that face once to a present I gave you and I would just not get you anything else - ever.

Sounds like you just need to work on your "wow!" face :) Practice in a mirror and try to duplicate the same expression when you are opening your presents on Christmas! Then you can be sure you convey the right message. Also--if u really like the gifft--be sure to say something like: "Oh, wow! Thank you so much!" and maybe give the giver a hug!
Hope that helps! Good luck to you!
Merry Christmas!

Before you actually get the present open, pause for a minute and think about your reaction, and then verbally continue to tell them that you love the gift. To be honest though, if it looks like you don't like a gift, that is what is gonna stick with the giver, so be sure that you visually convey that you like the gift.
On another note, I am not trying to be a pain here, but your question was, at times, difficult to decipher. please spell check. There are several spots where you have misspelled a word or are missing letters all together. it is difficult for us old folks to know what you are talking about. :)

ah, the art of facial misdirection.
i like to disguise my normal voice when opening gifts. and always use positive, but unusual combinations of words with the weird voice.
vist homestarrunner.com for a few of my favorite voices to imitate. strongbad is great but homestar is a classic. my goal this year is to get my sister in law to pee herself on christmas morning. i plan to go into a homestar monologue about a Wii numchuck and the proper usage and instruction of playing a wii with a wiimote contrwowur.
the key is to get the other person laughing and you'll be smiling too, regardless of how horrendous of a gift it is
