Also, people who put the letter'u' instead of 'you' - does this annoy you?
I used to do this because I was too lazy to type properly, but I don't do it anymore and it really bothers me when I see it.

Yes yes yes! It just looks so pathetically ignorant. There is no need to shorten words! It is ridculous and merely lowers the writing skills of an entire generation. You make think it is harmless, but it is turning children into a bunch of illiterate idiots. Believe me - I'm still in college.

Man does it bother me! I feel it makes people look highly uneducated. It's also an excuse for people to not learn how to spell properly. I know someone who sends emails that way... I have to auto-spell correct it before I can even read it because it gives me such a headache!

Sometimes it does. I don't know where it came from but I suppose it's because the writer does so much texting on their phones, they forget how to write normally.
I don't care, but there are times when reading a question, I get lost in the mix and am trying to make sense of what they are asking, and having this "shorthand" stuff is distracting.

Nope it doesn't bother me one way or the other as I understand what they're saying. However I hate when I ask a question and nobody answers it. I'm sorry to do this to you but people on here leave me no choice.

I don't know many people that does that . I can relate to that way of writing almost telegraphic.
In my good (?) old days I used to take notes in class like that. very brief notes .
Now a days I do it because I 've become very, very leisy , and number 2, because I like to create and my write my iseas in a fast way, other wise I forget what I'm traying to talk about ...

Yes! It really gets on my nerves! And then they abbreviate sentences, lmao, wtf...it makes me want to gag! The only people who should be allowed to abbreviate are those poor old soles that never learned how to type and they have to hunt and peck at the keyboard! It would take my boss like 10 minutes to type this!

no.. it doesnt bother me... if u want to go ahead and type in the whole world... be my guest..... but maybe some people dont want too.. if ur writing a letter to someone then yeah... type properly... but if ur on some website like this... then u dont have too...

It bothers me a little, but I have gotten more used to it since all the kids who are used to text messaging do it that way.
