You are both right, according to the BBC news and other sources it is ESTIMATED he was around 18-19.

He was 9 when he became king, he ruled Egypt for 10 years, 9 + 10= 19, he died at the age of nineteen.

I don't think it has been absolutely determined yet. I have heard anywhere from 17-28. But why do you ask? Does it really matter? Dead at such a young age, is nevertheless dead.

Bottom line, he was in actuality, an inconsequential Pharaoh. His only claim to fame was that he was found with most of his funerary artifacts in tact: nothing else.

I believe it was 19 but what does one year matter? I mean there were thousands and thousands of years of Ancient Egypt one year is nothing.

We're actually really lucky we can estimate it that close. Most of what we know about Egypt is ify. Circumstancial evidence based on more circumstancial evidence. It wasn't until just recently that we could conclude that him and his father were definately related. We're not even sure exactly who his mother was. (It's commonly believed his mother was Kiya but even that is disputed)

How he died is still debated.
