It seems like we always discuss stuff on here, and then the next day it shows up on ESPN... This question is kind of a joke... but it really wouldn't surprise me... They have people monitor certain blog sites... Your thoughts?

Nah, I doubt professional sports writers would take discussions from us. If anything we discuss the things they talk about.

I have thought the same thing many times. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if ESPN did this. They want to know what the audience thinks so they can go after and maybe even exploit a story. I've often felt that ESPN tries to create news rather than report it. Also, some of the people on Answers could work for ESPN and could even be on air personalities.

No, ESPN doesn't really care what the public is talking about. That's why they took forever to allow feedback and discussion on individual stories, and why so many people ridicule for being out of touch with much of the country.

It would be nice if they did pay more attention not only here, but to the many great sports forums out there. Not only would they get some ideas for stories, but they could "borrow" from some of the brighter minds online. I know that there are some bloggers out there who know a heck of a lot more than some of the ESPN guys.

More like people on this board are discussing what they watch on ESPN.

Well, they might not intentionally have anyone monitoring, but it would be entirely possible that some of their interns keep a watch on this voluntarily, and report their findings to the boss. ;-)

You should look into that. That would be really funny if ESPN was getting their baseball rumors from us.

They might.....I have noticed a couple of things on their website a day or two after I read it here.

No. They only monitor things that happen on the east coast when it comes to baseball.
