Tell them that you've lost your sense of humour and will let them know when you've found it again.

Explain that you receive so many emails that include literally hundreds from people sending jokes to you, many of which are duplicates, and you are so very busy that lately it has taken all your time just sorting out the emails that you are needing to respond to. In fact, you could add that you are swamped and would really appreciate it if all emails of that nature will cease until further notice, because you are losing control of your flow of emails. Hopefully, (add), if things get back to slow again, you can let them know to send a joke here and there, but, to please, be very selective when that time comes. And let them know you are asking this of everyone! Thank them very much in advance for understanding.
Hope that helps!

I know the worst way is to hit 'reply to all' and say you want to be taken off the list. Then other people jump on the bandwagon and hit reply to all, and it gets pretty nasty. I've seen that before.
If this person is an acquaintance that you rarely interface with, you can ask them to send jokes to another email address - not your primary address - the one you use as a spam catcher. I've found it convenient to have a 'dirty' email account in addition to the email accounts where I keep my normal correspondance.
If you want to be civil and ask for cessation, definitely DON'T hit 'reply to all'!
Take care, and good luck.

Ask them top then in the event that they are no longer getting it (maximum do no longer), block their handle. Does get previous and you're spot with one reason they do it. yet another is self magnitude or they're bored and experience as though they're doing something advantageous. My brother does it to on the instant and he knows extra advantageous. I blocked something with a FWD in the placement line so his different e-mails nevertheless are available in.

Kindly ask the person to take you off the forwarding list, as you don't have time to read all of the emailed jokes since your email account is full from others forwarding you emails. You would be more than happy to receive emails, but not the forwarded ones.

I had this problem. I sent out a nice letter to everyone in my mailbox so no one was singled out saying that I was getting too much mail and my server couldn't handle it...and that I would have to ask everyone on from sending loads of junk/jokes/chainletters/etc. if not I was afraid that I was going to have to start putting people on my spam list and I really hated to have to do it, but it was gettin gout of control.
Problem ended right away.

The easiest possible way is create a new id and tell them that you have changed your id and give it to them and ask them to post the jokes to the new id n simply ignore the new id afterwards.. No need of fuzz at all.. They wud never know that they hav been tricked.... Hope that sounds gud..

I wouldn't. I have a similar problem with someone who sends me a ton of illegal immigrant and right wing political emails. I have started just deleting them.
I would say don't read them, and don't respond. Maybe he will get the hint?

You just have to politely tell them that while you appreciate them taking the time to forward the jokes and humor, it isn't something that you take the time to read. Ask them if they wouldn't mind not sending them anymore and thank them again for them thinking of you.

If you are using a work computer, tell them the company is starting to crack down on non-work related e-mails. If not, tell them you just don't have the time to read them all.

I think I would just ask them to stop because it is taking up too much space or you can tell them you changed your email and give them a different one to send the emails too...
