I've lost 7lbs in 2 weeks. The funny thing is I'm not trying to lose weight! I'm 5'4 and I weight 116lbs. I told my mom that I've been losing weight, but now she's almost force feeding me. She's making more for dinner and making me eat more of it. I'm eating more then my 21 year old brother >.< How can I get her to realize that my weight is fine, that I'm not underweight?

I know my mom is just trying to do what she thinks is best for me, but it kinda makes me sick.

Do you have a small, medium, or large frame? Research online for weight distribution charts by height and frame to show her that for 5'4 you are within a healthy weight range (if you have a small frame) you are young and have a fast metabolism. She is probably just scared with all the eating disorders out there, especially amongst teenagers

You may need to go see an expert like a doctor if you need to convince her your wieght is healthy. Another thing you should see a doctor about is how you lost 7 pounds in a week without trying. If you have lost the will to eat (but don't have the psychological type of anorexia), this can point to serious digestive tract problems like appendicitis. If you were eating and lost the weight, it could have been water or some other fluctuation. But if you didn't feel like eating, but don't feel like you need to lose weight, get to the doctor so he can give you some blood tests and figure out why.

Well you are a fine weight for your height so thats healthy. One question; are you exercising more lately? If you are tell your mom this. Otherwise I do not know how you are losing all that weight :s!? Usually people will lose 2 lbs. a week. Make sure you are not sick or something go get checked out.

If you have lost weight without trying, and not eating less, perhaps it's time to see the doctor...

Are you going through a growth spurt, or have you just finished one? Sometimes these phases may be cause for weight loss, too.

Take care, and i hope it works out.. eat as much as you want, and leave the rest... hugs

Try this. Tell her that since your metabolism is in high gear and you're in a growth spurt, it isn't HOW MUCH you eat but WHAT you eat that matters.

(This is a little white lie, to get you and your whole family to eat more nutritious balanced meals. Shhhh!)

This is a diet planner by my fave health guru dr. andrew weil. Fill it out, print it out, and tell Mom you want to follow it.

It'll be a LOT better than eating 2 times as much meat loaf and mac and cheese will be!

SHe is probably just afraid you are developing an eating disorder so wants to be sure you are eating. Just tell her you are fine and are healthy and love to eat...just not as much as she is trying to get you to consume.

sounds like the best thing to do would be to sit her down and talk to her, explain that your not trying to lose weight. really i guess the only thing you can do is talk to her about it
