ok they say math is the key to the world, and I say Um yeah Adding Subtracting and Mulltiplying and maybe dividing but thats about it unless you are a shopper and need to know percentages I mean who actually uses y and x math used to be so fun now it feels like they are adding on a bunch of unnecessary stuff Unless you are going to be an engineer or rocket scientist or career in that but can they wait for college for that stuff?

we hardly ever need math in the real world, apart from simple sums, but not algebra, no. it is totally unnecessary.

If you wait for college for that stuff, then you'll be years behind once you get there. It may never have a direct benefit for you, but the way your brain works to solve algebra problems will be beneficial. Think of it as exercise for your brain.
