I do not know, but it sure irritates me. It makes me think they don't understand grammar and the fact that capitalization and spelling implies intelligence. I have no idea why girls do it....

Yes, they are. I am one, and I don't type like that. Not even IMing. They think it makes their writing look "cooler". Not only does it make the words more difficult to read, but it's bad enough already because of the lack of proper grammar. I'm sorry if you have to deal with that.
