Its ASTRAL PROJECTION. There is scant evidence for it with no theoretical basis. Its main support is anecdotal. I would say it is complete nonsense except for the fact that a large number of hospital patients under surgery have reported hovering in the air above the operating tabel looking down at the procedure and themselves. and being able to give a reasonable account. This may be some sort of mental quirk resembling a dream, or perhaps something else. Since this sort of thing really doesn't respond to scientific inquiry, facts will be hard to come by. The CIA under Reagan spent a great deal of time and effort on this and its related concept, Remote Viewing, to absolutely no effect ( I'm guessing here since the CIA isn't known for releasing a lot of information about much of anything ).

Not as a skill, but it has happened to me at least twice. An area of nature that needs more study--we're still in the dark ages on some subjects. It's hard to quantify transient experiences. Enhances appreciation for what we have!
