i went to a salon this summer, out of town, and paid for the services with a check. the check was returned because of an error that i made in my checkbook. i totally forgot to send the payment to them, now ive just received a letter that says i will have an arrest warrent issued for my arrest for writing worthless checks. can this be resolved by paying the bill or will i have to go to court?

normally prosecution will stop once the issue is resolved, however once the warrant is issued it is up to the DA. If you have the money now, go pay the money now. If you don't, call the salon and let them know when you will and pay as promised.

If you can get the bill paid and get the person filing the charge to drop it, normally, it would be resolved without getting the court involved. You should turn yourself in though with proof and see if you can contact the other person regarding the bill. Be sure to keep a copy of everything in case you do have to go to court to show them you indeed have paid the debt.

If there is an arrest warrent you need to turn yourself in and take the money in with you and talk to the officer about fixing it. When a arrest warrent is issused you will be arrested and probley spend a few days in jail of the most.

If I were you I would pay it ,especially if it is out of state. First thing ,I would telephone the salon to make sure she didn't file a charge against you, even if she did ,I would still pay it,then she will drop the charges,if that was done.
Good luck.!
Don't take this lightly or you will spending Christmas Day in the slammer, and your hairdo will be the last thing on your mind.

If you had addressed the problem when first contacted yes. Now there are court charges, collection fees etc..etc...

Call the DA, arrange to meet with him to pay off the account and have the warrent withdrawn

You wil get arrested and booked, and have a misdemeanor on your record, or whatever your state considers it. Pay the check immediately with any fines or fees involved.
