Question: Is it an installed carpet or a rug? How long have the stains been there?

Oxyclean. mix it with water and really wet the area, let it sit awhile then sop it up with towels. The stain will keep disappearing till it dries. You may have to repeat.

Try some Oxyclean - it works pretty well on most organic stains.
